Colorectal carcinoma are among the most frequent malignant entities in Germany as well as in other European countries. The impact of preoperative weight and weight-loss on the cancer-specific outcome of such carcinoma has been subject to controversial debate. We aimed to assess the influence of preoperative weight and weight loss on the outcome of surgery for colorectal carcinoma between 2004 and 2014.
