Brief Summary in Lay Language
In this study, the "Evidence-based practice inventory", a questionnaire to assess barriers and facilitator regarding evidence-based practice, will be translated into German and then tested regarding its reliability reproducibility by means of an online survey among various health disciplines (physiotherapy, occupational therapy, nursing, midwifery, medicine, psychology, speech therapy, sports therapy).
The aim is to develop a German questionnaire that will identify possible conveying factors
and barriers to the usage of evidence-based practice in German speaking populations.
Evidence-based practice is the approach to ensure the best possible patient care, based on current scientific knowledge.
By identifying conveying factors and barriers in the application of evidence-based practice, previous implementation approaches can be evaluated and (the) potential for improvement identified.
Brief Summary in Scientific Language
Intercultural adaptation of the "evidence-based practice inventory" and testing the reliability of the German adapted version by means of an online survey.

- conveying factors and barriers in the application of evidence-based practice among members of different health professions
Interventions/Observational Groups
-
In this study, the "Evidence-based practice inventory" questionnaire will be translated from English into German and will be evaluated against its comprehensibility in a pre-testing phase. For this purpose, a sample of n = 30 health professionals will be recruited.
Subsequentely, members of different health professions (e.g. physiotherapy, occupational therapy, nursing, midwifery, medicine, psychology, speech therapy, sports therapy) will be asked to fill in the questionnaire via an online survey.
In an ensuing phase, the reliability of the German adapted version will again be tested via an online version using the previously recruited sample of health professionals. It is intended to include 100 participants per profession.
15 minutes are estimated for each study participant to collect key relevant socio-demographic data, including the providing of informed consent and completing the questionnaire.
Participants will be asked to complete the online questionnaire after a period of three to four weeks once more.
