Brief Summary in Lay Language

It's unclear to what extend disfunction of the occipital nerves has got influence on headaches. Eventough the manual examination of these nerves is recommended in cases of cervical spine related headaches and known as a potential origin of pain. Hence this study is supposed to examine if patients with cervical spine related headaches show more findings in this area than healthy controls.

Brief Summary in Scientific Language

The influence of dysfunction of the peripheral nerves of cervicogenic headaches is discussed controversally. Frequently recommended manual examination techniques in regard to cervicogenic headaches are among others pressure mechanosensitivity and neurodynamics of the greater occipital nerve. The aim of this study is to varify if patients with cervicogenic headaches statisticaly show significantly more dysfunction of these nerves than healthy controls.
