Brief Summary in Lay Language

For a first comprehensive overview of the exposure of occupational therapists in Germany should be answered the following questions based on evidence:
stress factors (psychosocial, musculoskeletal, infectious and mental) are leading to work-related illnesses in occupational therapists?
Is working as an occupational therapist a risk of developing a occupational disease? Also will be examined, favoring the risk of developing psychological symptoms, especially in the sense of burnout in this profession loads.

Brief Summary in Scientific Language

There are indications of physical and psychosocial work stress with resulting occupational illnesses (some occupational diseases) for occupational therapists. However, the studies with regard to work-related illnesses of this occupational group in Germany (as well as international) is currently regarded as inadequate. The following scientific questions should be answered based on evidence from the planned project for a first comprehensive overview of the exposure of occupational therapists in Germany:

- Which stress factors (psychosocial, musculoskeletal, infectious and mental) lead to work-related illnesses in occupational therapists?
- Are existing in occupational therapy work loads that include the risk of developing occupational diseases listed below:

- Are existing in these professions loads, favor the risk of developing psychological symptoms, especially in the sense of burnout?

Short version Fragebogen Physiotherapie-Kohorte (adaptiert für Er¬gothera-peut/innen),
DIA-X SSQ (Wittchen and Perkonigg 1996).
Composite International Dia¬gnostic Interview (CIA-X-M-CIDI) (Wittchen and Semler 1991) für die Screening-Posi¬tiven,
Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test Consumption (AU¬DIT-C (Bush et al. 1998)),
five-item Brief-Symptom Rating Scale (Lung and Lee 2008),
„Arbeitsbezogene Erlebens und Verhaltensmuster“- short version (AVEM, Schaarschmidt and Fischer 2001).
