Brief Summary in Lay Language
This academic paper has been prepared based on a documentary Mentation sheet to provide an overview on the detailed consultation reasons for urgent mandatory home visits at nursing homes and within the diagnostic and therapeutic actions that are being taken at those visits. The gained data will be used to create a new Instruction that will ensure a more efficient medical care for the residents of a nursing home. To obtain all the data needed, a time of three months will be used for observation.
Brief Summary in Scientific Language
Medical home visits are preliminary connect with a much more higher time input of the medical personal. Especially urgent visits have to be communicated, as they need to be integrated into the daily business (or daily routine tour) of the medical staff. As of the EBM was generated/presented in 2008 urgent home visits at nursing homes are being generously promoted. Therefore an “urgent home visit” has ben defined as a visit that will take place on the same day as ordered, either by the nursing staff or the family doctor himself. As of now there has been no academic research published that discusses, based on which reasons those urgent home visits in nursing homes where ordered.
This publication (or academic paper) is aimed at providing consulting reasons and after collecting all the data the second version will be coded for statistical analysis to the International Classification of Primary Care (ICPC-2) (Voigt et al. 2011). Further it underlines the importance of the “urgent” home visits and will provide a evaluation of both, the family doctor and nursing staff.
