Brief Summary in Lay Language

Aim of the study is analysis of vocal fold oscillations at high pitches in professional singers using high speed imaging. Here, flexible endoscopic high speed imaging techniques will be used up to a framerate of 20000 per second. With this frame rate fundamental frequencies up to 2000Hz could be analysed. This study aims to analyse both physiology and relevance of swelling with respect to vocal fold oscillations, especially in professional sopranos. Furthermore, biomechanical changes due to register transitions will be analysed.
