Brief Summary in Lay Language

The aim of the ESCiMo-Study (DRKS00004450) is to evaluate a targeted, individualized sports therapy program for childhood cancer patients and its effects on motor performance, health-related quality of life and level of activity.
In order to improve this program, this additional controlled, cross-sectional study evaluates the level of activity/activity behaviour, cognitive abilities, fatigue, ankle dorsiflexion, and gait parameters of childhood cancer patients compared to healthy children of the same age and gender.

Primary Outcome

The level of activity/activity behaviour will be evaluated onetime (baseline) by a standardized activity-questionnaire (MoMo-questionnaire) and a modified version of this questionnaire.

Secondary Outcome

Cognitive abilities, fatigue, ankle dorsiflexion and gait parameters will be evaluated onetime (baseline) by standardized test systems (Wiener Testsystem, IQ-Test: CFT, PedsQL multidimensional Fatigue Scale, goniometer, Optogait).

Additional Inclusion Criteria

oncological treatment, after cessation of inpatient medical treatment, between four and seventeen years of age, diagnosis less than two years ago, hemoglobin and heart rate within a normal range, without infection, medical clearance from the treating physician
